The legal minimum tread depth is 1.6mm across the central three-quarters of the tyre, but grip in the wet drops well before that, so we’ll tell you honestly when yours are getting low.

Puncture repairs
Many punctures in the main tread can be repaired safely. If yours can’t, we’ll explain why and price a replacement.
Wheel balancing
Vibration through the steering wheel at speed often means a wheel is out of balance.
Wheel alignment
Alignment set to manufacturer settings to stop uneven tyre wear, improve fuel economy and fix a car that pulls to one side.
Signs to look for
Uneven wear on one edge, a steering wheel that isn’t straight or a car that pulls to one side all point to alignment.
Checked at your MOT
Tyres are checked on every MOT, so we’ll flag any that are close to the limit.
Hit a pothole?
A hard knock from a pothole or kerb can put the alignment out or damage a tyre. If the steering feels different afterwards, bring it in for a check.
